Steve Johnson has been a Chicago journalist for more than 35 years. Most of that time, he spent at the Chicago Tribune covering arts, culture, and a range of hard news in the city and suburbs. Since Alden Global Capital took over the paper in June, 2021, he has been a freelance reporter and writer in Chicago.
A native of Chicago raised in New Hampshire, Johnson is a graduate of Brown University with a degree in English and American literature.
